Here are just a few options to consider:

Rochester General Hospital welcomes applications for volunteer work. Check out www.viahealth.org. or contact Eva Polito, volunteer coordinator at Rochester General Hospital. Most volunteers need to be at least 14 years old and be able to commit to one day per week for several hours.

The T.I.E.S. program (Together Including Every Student) is a volunteer program linking high school students with younger students with developmental disabilities. Together they participate in extracurricular and community activities that are mutually agreed upon.

Special Sitters Program needs volunteers to give family members a much needed break from the daily routine of caring for someone with a disability. If interested, contact the Special Sitters Office at 271-0660 Ext. 352. All participants must attend a 4-part training session.

The Helmer Nature Center needs several volunteers for upcoming events. Maple Sugar festivals, pancake breakfasts, nature trail work and scout programs are some of the events you can become involved with.

Still haven't found what you are interested in? Contact Mrs. Bucciarelli at 336-3019 or stop in the Career Center to discuss further options
