About Mrs. Graham

Mrs. Kristin Graham has been teaching at Irondequoit High School since 1999 where she teaches Chorale, Choristers and AP Music Theory.  She founded the a cappella groups Sweet Sixteen and DSS and directed them for nine years; she now directs Sweet Sixteen.  Her Irondequoit HS choirs have performed at venues such as Chicago Symphony Hall, Riverside Church in NYC, McGill University in Montreal, Syracuse University and Michigan State University.  As musical director Mrs. Graham has led numerous performances in the IHS theatre department including Beauty and the Beast, Guys and Dolls, The Scarlet Pimpernel, Nunsense and Destiny.

Mrs. Graham has been an AP Reader for the Music Theory exam since 2011 and has served as a Table Leader since 2017.  She is a former NYSSMA solo festival adjudicator, a past member of the MCSMA executive board, and has been a presenter at the winter NYSSMA conference on three occasions.

As a vocalist, Mrs. Graham has performed with the Eastman Rochester Chorus, the Detroit Symphony, and the Lexington Symphony.  For the last several years Mrs. Graham has performed with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra and Madrigalia in Cosi fan tutte (2019), Carmen (2018), and La Boheme (2017).  Most recently Mrs. Graham and some of her students performed with the RPO in the live music production of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (fall, 2019).

Mrs. Graham holds a Master of Music Degree in Conducting from the University of Kentucky where she studied with Dr. Jefferson Johnson and a Bachelor of Music Degree in Voice from Michigan State University.  Before Irondequoit, Mrs. Graham taught in East Detroit, MI and Wheatland-Chili, NY.  She is a member of ACDA and NAfME.

Mrs. Graham lives in Irondequoit with her husband, her four children, and new Collie/Bernese Mtn. mix puppy.  In addition to music and time with her family, her interests include reading, hiking, travel and being a loyal MSU Spartan.  Go Green!
